My name is Dan O'Brien and I am the Head Trader for Larry Levin's live S&P Signal Room (VTR).

Everyday in theTrading Advantage SSC, we observe real market conditions and look for potential trading opportunities based on the same principles and methodologies you will learn in the Trading Advantage training program.

These are the same core principles Larry Levin has used to become so successful over his 20 year trading career, and the same principles he uses to trade with successfully today.

As time goes on you will get to know me in the S&P Signal Classroom. But first I want to tell you a little about myself, how I got started in this industry and most importantly, how I found Larry Levin & Trading Advantage.

I got started in the trading industry for two reasons:

1. I was always passionate about trading
2. The opportunity to take a chance in trading followed me everywhere!

I definitely tried to fight it. In fact, I was self-employed for several years before I entered this business.

But I couldn't ignore trading for long. It was a driving force in the back of my mind until I sold my company and surrendered to it nearly 12 years ago.

Since then, I've never looked back.

In 1996 I made my trading debut in the brokerage business. Initially I worked for a few small firms but quickly had the itch to be my OWN boss and create my OWN wealth- a true trader mentality!

In 1998 I opened a brokerage firm, O'Brien Futures, which enjoyed rapid success.

From 1998 to 2004 I directed dozens of clients at O'Brien and was quoted by Bloomberg and CNNMoney. I also worked closely with Welles Wilder's firm: The Delta Society.

In 2006 I opened a CTA firm with a partner - Global Asset Investment. Although the firm opened just before the greatest market volatility in history, it still enjoyed a significant amount of success and growth.

Eventually, I realized directing a CTA firm wasn't what I really wanted.

Instead I was ready to create my own freedom; I craved the opportunity to relay my passion for the industry to those who wanted to learn to those who wanted to learn both from my success and from my mistakes.

I met Larry Levin in 2000. It was then that Larry and I wrote the "Advanced Techniques" for the Secrets of Traders Training Course. It has proven to be popular and extremely beneficial for Secrets of Traders students (you) and has gained national, as well as worldwide readership.

As I've continued trading futures I've designed several different trading systems, while also trading diverse proprietary systems of others.

These systems have gone from short-term trading to long-term and all other "terms" in-between. During this journey I've realized two important things; there is no Holy Grail to trading (should have listened to Larry), and great sums of money can be made simply by "following the trend" and the proper education.

I have Larry to thank for helping me marry my two dreams in life: trading for a living and to teaching others how to trade the right way.
